GOOD FRIDAY SOCCER FRIDAY 14TH APRIL

Our annual soccer match against our "arch enemy" the nag's head hotel (the O'hara family's Glebe hotel) continues good friday.... this is a tradition started some 6 years ago, for a trophy which has since been broken (or lost). The games are always willing and a lot of fun, with drinks food (no meat-for the catholics) and presentations back at the Grosvenor. Kick off at 1pm at Waterloo Oval, all patrons are welcome to play (and any members of Sydney F.C are also very welcome to strap on the boots for us).

ANZAC DAY 2-UP TUES 25TH APRIL

South Sydney's best 2-up ring will be open for business at 9am. In the sports bar. Plenty of our local ex-serviceman will be here, entertaining us with their old yarns and tall stories. A free sausage sizzle will be on from 9am as well. "HEAD EM UP"

1ST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS SATURDAY 29th APRIL

It is now one year since we puchased the grosvenor, and we thought we would
mark the occasion with a good old fashioned b/day bash. We will be putting on some free drinks, along with finger food and a special guest appearence from Pete Moore ex-leadsinger of "Superfish" fresh from a sellout tour of England along with some serious reminiscing about the last 12 months.

We would love to see you all and thank you in person for all your support over the last year.

bistro

A selection from the bistro

In the gourmet carvery this month we are featuring "Thirlmere chickens". These chooks are free range and pasture and grain fed, giving them a plump
and juicy taste. The farm at Thirlmere (near the Southern Highlands) where we buy these are renowned as the market leader in free range poultry. You can see them at the fox markets every Wednesday.

"chef mezza" marinates them with his special mix of lemon and oregano then chars them slightly on the grill, then into the oven. The result is a crispy skin and unbeleivably moist meat. Team this with some paris mash, spiced pumpkin and baby corn, with bread all for $16 ...you cannot go wrong.

staff

From the other side of the bar
Each month we profile one of our staff.

staff profile this month is Emily

Emily is the sister of an old mate of the grosvenor's ex wallaby Justin "googs" Harrison.

Emily has been working at the hotel for about 6 months now. Emily is great behind the bar or in the bistro, she is also a wiz on the computer with menu designs etc.

She is a favourite with all the crew here (except when boring us all with details of her latest "future husband").

Emily is currently doing her masters in international studies and also works with adults with disabilities (not here), and hopes to one day work with the U.N
